In my first term, we expanded library space, acquired parkland,
banned vaping products for kids, saved and expanded a popular farmers'
market, increased low-income & senior housing and retail space, and
pushed for sensible developments, such as Westport, and two hotels.
We also renovated McClellan Ranch Community Garden under budget,
created garden beds in parks, funded an all-inclusive playground,
adopted environmental & bird friendly building standards, and pushed
back against pollution by Lehigh Cement and Stevens Creek Quarry.
As Vice Mayor, I initiated coffee talks with residents, pushed
for fiscal accountability through internal audit programs, and empowered
commissioners (resident volunteers) to have a greater impact on
the City's Work Program, and focus on residents' needs.
If re-elected, I'll work to develop programs to serve seniors aging
at home, connect teens who desire career opportunities in the world
outside of schools, and promote programs to foster intergenerational
connections and healthy activities. Also, I'll push to diversify City's
revenue sources with sensible development and improve community
engagement & public safety by revamping the Neighborhood Watch program.
My family lived in Cupertino for 24 years. Our children attended
Cupertino public schools. I will advocate for balanced policies that
respect residents and local businesses above special interests.
