TO START: Set the thermostat (1) on "3," the fan speed switch (2) on "AUTO" and the venti- lation (3) on "VENT OFF." Your Coldspot aware conditioner is totally unique, total - ly automatic and totally aware of your comfort needs. The thermostat on ordi- nary air conditioners controls only the compressor —the tan stays on whether the compressor is running or not. The thermostat on your Coldspot aware con- ditioner controls the compressor, the fan and the fan speed. Here's how it works: When the unit is completely off, the thermostat senses a rise in room tem- perature and turns the fan on low speed to circulate the air. If cooling is needed, the thermostat turns the compressor on. And, when further cooling is needed to reach the desired temperature, the ther- mostat turns the fan to medium speed. When cooling needs have been satisfied, the procedure reverses - NOTE: YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT DURING WARM WEATHER, THE FAN MAY CONTINUE RUNNING. The aware conditioner will turn com- pletely off ONLY when the inside tem- perature drops below the thermostat setting (usually after the outside tem- perature drops). Once you get used to aware conditioning, you may readjust the thermostat to your cooling needs. If you leave home for more than two days, turn the fan speed switch to 'OFF." You may operate your aware conditioner manually by setting the fan speed switch on either `YAW" or "HiGiL" The thermo- stat will still turn the compressor on find off —but, the fan will run continuously. You may readjust the thermostat and fan speeds to your cooling needs. To shut the unit completely off, you must turn the fan speed switch to "OFF." TO ADJUST: 1Q Temperature Turn the thermostat control clockwise 1'or cooler temperatures and counterclockwise for warmer temperatures. Turn the ther- mostat to "6" for maximum cooling. R1 Fan Speed The fan speed adjusts automatically when your unit is on "AUTO." During manual operation, however, you may ad- just the fan speed switch to "FIIGII" for quick cooling on extra warm days or to "LOW" for ultra -quiet cooling. M Ventilation Your Coldspot may be used to bring in fresh, clean air or to exhaust stale, smoky air. For fresh air: set the ventilation on "AIR IN," the thermostat on "I" and the fan speed switch on "alen" or `Low." To exhaust stale, smoky air: set the ventila- tion on "AIR OUT," the thermostat on "1" and the fan speed switch on "IIFGII" or "LOW." For maximum exhausting during winter months, your Coldspot has full - closing discharge louvers. To close: push the air directional center tabs (5) all the way up. To circulate the Toone air only without cooling: set the ventilation on "VENT OFF," the thermostat on "1" and the fan speed switch on "U md" or "LOW." ® Air Direction (right and left) Lets you direct the air right or left to Avoid drafts. 50 Air Direction (up and down) You may adjust the air direction up or down by moving the center tabs. n LJ'i keep your new Coldspot running trouble -free If installed correctly, your Coldspot air conditioner will give you trouble -free service. Three electrical requirements must be met. BE SURE TO OBSERVE LOCAL CODES. 1. Receptacle wire should be at least as large as size shown on electrical chart below. Keep wire lengths as short as possible to avoid voltage drop. If it is necessary to use long wire lengths, it is advisable to use the next larger size wire. When in doubt, avoid trouble by consulting an electrician. 2. Your air conditioner WILL NOT run on D.C. (Direct Current). The receptacle must have the correct voltage and be of 60-Hz alternating current. See the electrical chart below for the type receptacle to use with your model. 3. Work commenced with a general stripping of the entire area to be developed. All grading to date has been performed in accordance with the 11Recommended Grading Specifications" from our Soil. All areas designated to receive engineered fill, as well as where foundations are to be '-placed on natural ground, were stripped of all organic matter and other debris, scarified to a _ __depth of 8 inches and recomnacted prior to placing the fill ALL old structures were demolished and removed.from the site. All trees not to be utilized in landscaping were removed from the site and the resulting depressions backfilled with suitable on - site material under our supervision. Lots 67 through 74 have been acceptably graded to date. Lots 67 and 69 through 74 fall in a cut area while L,ot 68 received approximately 6 inches of compacted fill. All field density tests performed by our firm to date; on which acceptance is based, show values in excess of 90% relative com- paction based on the ASTM D1557-66T, Laboratory Compaction Test in accordance with the aforementioned specifications. File No. E6900 • February 26, 1A) Lots 67 through 74 are complete and considered suitable for building improvements. The major portion of the grading has been performed on Lots 75 through 117. However, these lots have not been completed due to the current- wet weather. Upon completion of these lots we will issue a final report. of certification.
