Subject: Existing one story wood framed residence at 7874
Robindell Way, Cupertino, Ca. 1978 Remodel
Gentlemen:
At the request of the owner's agent, Mr. Jack Rosenthal, an
inspection of the subject property was made by the undersigned.
The inspection was made on July 27, 1995 to examine the
construction of the subject residence. The existing one story
residence was built approximately 35 years ago and appears to be
in good condition. The wood framed roof system has a composition
roof over solid sheathing. The stud walls are 2x4 @ 16" o/c with
1/2" gyp board interior finish and stucco exterior. The floor is
raised wood framing with perimeter footings.
In 1978, the property was in the City of San Jose and permits
were taken out to add approximately 90 square feet to the Master
bedroom and to convert approximately 300 square feet of the
original garage to living space. Since the remodeling was done,
the property has been taken into the City of Cupertino. Research
of the City records does not indicate any permits, however, the
County Tax Assessor's records indicate two permits were issued
from San Jose and an appropriate increase of the square footage
for tax assessment (#78-02,#78-03) APN 362-19-028.
In my opinion, the remodeled area was constructed in accordance
with the Uniform Building Code and all other applicable City or
County ordinances in affect at that time. I therefore recommend
the issuance of a permit and final approval for the remodeled
area.
