We are dedicated to educating children, parents, and communities about online safety. We provide the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the digital world securely through interactive workshops, accessible resources, and community engagement. Cyberbullying and the protection of one's digital footprint are especially urgent issues in our city. Workshops are designed combining education with interactive, relatable activities that resonate deeply with students and parents alike. We want to create a safe space to explore topics like cyberbullying, digital footprints, scams, and privacy. Through these workshops and ongoing outreach, our goal is to make cybersecurity education both accessible and relevant. How Does the Organization Engage Participants? •Via interactive workshops, blogs What are the Plans for the After Graduation? •We have a leadership team that oversees each of our core departments: •Research and Writing, Communications, and Marketing. •Currently, over half of our leadership team consists of rising seniors. What are the Plans for the After Graduation? •To make sure there is a fair and open process, we are now accepting leadership applications from all rising freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in our organization. The final team selection and integration is set to finish by August 2, 2025. What are the Plans for the After Graduation? •During the first semester, current senior and junior leadership will mentor the new heads. This is to make sure that they understand their responsibilities through weekly check- ins. By the second half of the semester, all new leadership heads should be fully transitioned into their roles. What Makes the Organization Unique? •Cyber For Youth was founded after personally experiencing cyberbullying and recognizing that many other teenagers were not only facing similar harassment but also falling victim to online scams and even more serious threats. Next, our organization is entirely teen-led and centers around an issue we’ve experienced firsthand: growing up online. What Makes the Organization Unique? •We understand the internet in a way that (arguably) no other generation does. By combining our personal experiences with research on online safety topics that resonate with different groups, we’ve developed interactive approaches to engage and educate diverse audiences. What Makes the Organization Unique? •We've also engaged with key stakeholders (including cybersecurity experts, tech companies, and parents) to ensure our content remains relevant and accessible to adult audiences as well. What Makes the Organization Unique? •Our volunteers are carefully selected through an interview process. Every member of our team is deeply committed to advancing our mission and ensuring our work connects meaningfully with the people we serve. Why should Teen Commission Highlight the Organization? •Cyber For Youth has already made a significant impact across Cupertino, and we’re just getting started. We’ve led multiple events, including a full-day workshop for over 400 freshmen at Monta Vista High School, where 92% of students found the session engaging and 76% were likely to recommend it to another student. Many attendees later applied to join our organization and are now actively contributing as volunteers. Why should Teen Commission Highlight the Organization? •We were also invited back to Monta Vista for a feedback session with district administrators, principals, and parents, where we presented our progress and gathered valuable input. In addition, we were featured at the Cupertino Teen Wellness Fair. There, we held powerful conversations about digital safety and introduced ways for the community to get involved, from internships to educational workshops. Why should Teen Commission Highlight the Organization? •Our most technical event took place at the Cupertino City Hackathon, where we led a hands-on cybersecurity simulation for teen coders focused on software vulnerabilities and secure design. Why should Teen Commission Highlight the Organization? •In the heart of Silicon Valley, online safety is more urgent than ever. Highlighting our work would amplify a student-led solution to a growing digital crisis. It would allow students, parents, and administrators to join us and make an impact in our community. Questions?
