Whenever I'm at school, I always see the SV Hopper The SV `
being used by some students. No matter how the I .
weather was, I would always see the SV Hopper pper
being there for the students at my school. When
first heard about this contest, it first came to mind. i
Therefore, I decided to draw a person getting picked
up by an SV Hopper while it is heavily raining. My r .
artwork evidently aligns with the theme "Silicon
Valley Hopper" because I wanted to show one P t i
benefit of using that method of transportation.

I wanted to highlight the joy of biking, walking, or
running to school with friends and appreciating 0
nature along the way. The drawing shows two friends VI
enjoying their shared path, with a vibrant background
showcasing nature's beauty. The word "SAFE" is -: . _ 4# -'
enlarged and in a standout color to catch attention, ,z
guiding the viewer's eyes to the rest of the phrase. I *.
also took inspiration from the example to use the sky *1 .°

I chose the theme "The Environmental Benefits of Sustainable ili
Transportation" and focused on the reduction in greenhouse gas
emissions that biking can contribute by getting cars off the road. Ilt", iiiii...

mentality that all people should carry throughout their lives. I •
made this piece to reflect the power of change and the potential
for growth that can come as a result of our everyday choices.

ROUTES TO THE WORLD --„,i'

Irina lifantseu .
My design aligns with the idea of the joy of walking and biking. I
bike to school every day and although it can be bothersome atAt
times, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I know I prevented
a little bit of pollution by biking instead of driving a car. Some
people might dislike biking or walking because it appears to be :,
slower, uninteresting, and more work than driving a vehicle. In
my design, I wanted to convey the opposite. The laughing,
smiling characters are an example of someone having fun while * 5
walking and biking. They are paving the way for other, real
people to follow. The rest of the artwork reveals what will happen ROUTES.
when people discover the charm of walking and biking; the grass
will be a luscious green, the sky will be a blissful blue, and tOil
vibrant flowers will decorate the ground. SEHOO -.,

EVtPY STEP COUNTS
Alison Liu iig ...
I designed the piece "Every Step Counts" with the theme
"The Environmental Benefits of Sustainable Transportation"
in mind. The design depicts a person walking, leaving behind _
a large leaf—a symbol for the sustainability of walking 4, ,4

where they just stepped. I believe that walking, especially in `
l I f
a small city like Cupertino, is one of the best modes of
transportation as it helps reduce greenhouse gas and other

pollutant emissions from cars. Through this piece, I wanted
to emphasize that every individual matters, and that even .r. 4.
though one person may seem small, together we can make . .
a positive impact on the environment. I i
