SUBJECT AND ISSUE
Receive a resignation letter from Parks and Recreation Commissioner Rod Brown, and select an
application deadline and interview date,

Rod Brown has resigned from the Parks and Recreation Commission (see attached letter),

. Friday, April 21, 2006, 4:30 p.m.
. Tuesday, May 2, 5:30 p.m.

Subject: Resignation
Dear Members of the Cupertino City Council,
With regret, I am resigning my appointment to the Cupertino Parks and
Recreation Commission effective April 1st. My wife, daughter, and I will be
moving out of Cupertino to pursue career and personal opportunities in
Nevada City, California.
My work on the Cupertino Parks and Recreation Commission, as well as my
participation on the General Plan Task Force and Leadership Cupertino, has
been extremely challenging, educational, and ultimately very satisfying.
Wherever I live in the future, I will surely apply the many lessons I have
learned during my service in Cupertino, and I will also strive to emulate
the great examples of community service that the council, my fellow
commissioners, and Cupertino's excellent city staff have set.
Cupertino is a unique and wonderful place, blessed with talented and
involved citizens from allover the world, and we will miss it very much.
Thank you for all of the opportunities you have given me over the years, and
I hope that our paths cross again in the future.
Best regards,
Rod Brown
