Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. SINCE THE LEASE TO SAN JOSE WATER IS NOW UP ON THE WATER UTILITY OWNED BY CUPERTINO AND THIS CITY HAS TO MAKE A DECISION OF WHETHER TO LEASE IS AGAIN OR SELL IT OR TAKE IT OVER AGAIN AND OPERATED IT.....WE NOW WITH OUR CURRENT TEMP. CITY MANAGER AND PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR HAVE A ISSUE. THEY HAVE MADE ILLEGAL DECISIONS AND ARE MAKING DECISIONS ON THIS THAT ARE NOT IN ANY WAY IN THE GOOD OF THE FUTURE OF THIS CITY. OUR CITY OWNED WATER UTILITY IS NOT REGULATED IN ANY WAY BY THE CPUC AND IS ONLY REGULATED BY OUR CITY COUNCIL. BUT THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR CONTINUES TO LET SAN JOSE WATER DO AS THEY PLEASE REGARDING RATE INCREASES AND NOT COMPLYING WITH THE CONDITIONS OF THE CURRENT LEASE SAN JOSE WATER HAS. NOW PER HIS OWN AGENDA HE WANTS TO RE-LEASE IT TO SAN JOSE WATER. THIS CUPERTINO OWNED WATER UTILITY IN WHICH RATE PAYERS PAY FOR WATER IS OURS AND WE DEMAND TO BE INCLUDED IN ANY TALKS REGARDING OUR WATER UTILITY. THE SECRECY THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR I DOING THIS BY IS UNBELIEVABLE AND NOW HE WANTS ANOTHER EXTENSION TO MAKE A DECISION. WHY HE HAS HAD YEARS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. HE KNEW THE LEASE WAS EXPIRING. ONE EXAMPLE BESIDES SAN JOSE WATER GET RATE INCREASE WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE LAW AND NOT HAVE THE CITY COUNCIL VOTE AND ANYTHING INCLUDING RATE INCREASES PER THE LAW OUR PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR LETS THIS TAKE PLACE.... SAN JOSE WATER SELLS OUR DRINKING WATER FROM A FIRE HYDRANT TO STEVENS CREEK QUARRY BY THE TENS HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND OF GALLONS TO USE FOR DUST CONTROL ON THEIR DIRT ROAD AND SAN JOSE WATER DOES THIS SALE OUTSIDE THE SERVICE AREA FOR OUR WATER UTILITY THEY LEASE FROM CUPERTINO WHICH OUR PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DOES NOTHING ABOUT. AS I SAID IN A PREVIOUS EMAIL NOW THAT A NEW CITY MANAGER HAS BEEN HIRED AND ROGER LEE HAS RETIRED AND THE CURRENT TEMP. CITY MANAGER IS OUT THE ENTIRE CUPERTINO CITY OWNED WATER UTILITY SUBJECT MUST BE PUT ON HOLD TILL THE NEW CITY MANAGER CAN UNDERSTAND AND MAKE THE PROPER RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT ARE LEGAL AND BEST FOR THE FUTURE OF THIS CITY AND THE RESIDENTS/RATEPAYERS HERE WHICH WILL THEN STOPS THE CORRUPTION BY THE STAFF HERE AND SAN JOSE WATER THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS NOW. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Members of the TICC, Under your Proposals for FY 2022-2023 City Work Program, row 3: Public Safety: Research available Technology to increase Public Safety SUGGESTION #1: Please look into the possibility of making the pedestrian walk signals at major intersections turn on maybe 5 seconds before the traffic light turns green in the same direction. REASON: When vehicles are waiting to turn right and there are pedestrians waiting to cross, both the traffic light turns green at the same time the pedestrian light says it’s okay to cross. This is a very dangerous time for pedestrians. SUGGESTION #2: Please look into the possibility of installing the big electronic no-right-turn-on-red signs and all signals red to allow crossing in all directions (even diagonal) at some key intersections…possibly at Finch and Stevens Creek. REASON: Recently these changes were installed at Homestead Rd. and Mary Ave. during the times that school is starting and ending. It’s very clear, visible and seems to be a much safer arrangement. Drivers going north on Homestead and wanting to turn right onto Mary Ave can do right-on-red when school is not in transition but when school is starting/ending, it is very clear that right-on-red is not allowed. Thank you. It was built in 1868 and was the home of the Graves Family who owned a ranch along Saratoga Avenue in West San Jose. The Graves family settled In the area in the mid 1860s and then began construction of the beautiful two story Italianate Home in 1868. Graves Avenue by West Gate Shopping Center intersects with Saratoga Avenue And is named for the family. History San Jose is trying to help get the house secured so it can be preserved. Anyone wanting To help save the Graves House can contact History San Jose to make donations and to find out How to save other historic structures very important to the local history of the area. The Graves House is very similar to the beautiful Italianate Martial Cottle home being restored At the Martial Cottle Park on Snell Avenue in San Jose. These houses are priceless examples Of the agricultural heritage of San Jose. The Graves House shows the ranching and farming Heritage in West San Jose. Its preservation is vital to the rich history of West San Jose And the surrounding areas. Thank you. Hi Council Members- I am a resident of Northpoint community at the intersection of Homestead and Blaney Ave. We have a homeless encampment where the person is having propane tanks. This is right next to where resident live and walk as well as children play. Your help in helping the homeless person move to a appropriate housing will help improve the safety of residents and kids in the community. Regards Swen Mehta Community-Led Research: The Case Against CUSD School Closures December 2021 CUSD blocked students from attending Regnart, and stopped T-Kindergarten. Rejected Enrolled Est. Prior Years’ Rejected Including Meyerholz and Muir, CUSD rejected 465 enrollments from the 3 schools to be closed. CUSD’s balance sheet is the strongest it has been in a decade. CUSD received excess student funding (based on prior year enrollment). YOY revenue growth of 1.5-1.7% is a very conservative estimate because property tax revenue is likely to increase >2%. Unrestricted program carryover should be close to zero in two years. The unassigned fund balance would be $12M higher without it. CUSD is operating with ~57 days of liquidity, up 22% from last report If schools close, CUSD will have the largest elementary schools in the area. ●Average of 611 students per elementary school in CUSD is higher than any other area ●New enrollment from universal pre-K for all four year olds will further crowd schools.
