Re: Coast live oak tree @ 10285 Scenic Blvd.
The Coast live Oak tree is located in the front right corner of the house when facing the
house from the street (just behind the gate) It is growing about forty (40) inches from
the home foundation, it is approximately forty (40) feet tall and has a canopy spanning
approximately thirty six (36) feet in circumference, tree trunk measure approximately
fifty three (53) inches in circumference, measure at fifty four (54 ) inches above grade.
Tree trunk is composed of one single stem and due to the proximity to the home
structure, the roots are now growing under the home foundation.
Coast live oak trees are large size trees that can reach over seventy five feet tall and wide
the root reservoir should be as wide as the tree canopy, without adequate root space.
Roots can become invasive and compromise home foundation infrastructure.
The Coast live oak tree is currently healthy, but due to the proximity to the house
structure, it is felt that this tree restricts the owners ability to enjoy the reasonable use of
the property, this tree is considered unsuitable /inappropriate residential tree species due
to it's size and location relative to the home infrastructure, long term this tree will be
considered a hazard and a liability to the home owner. It is recommended to remove and
replace this Coast live oak tree. With a appropriate tree that will be more compatible
within the surrounding space.
