Subject:
Resignation as Planning Commissioner
Dear Friends,
Recent changes at home and at work have created much more demand for my time. As a
result, I cannot give full attention to my responsibility as Planning Commissioner any
more. It is with mixed feelings; I ask to be released from the position of Planning
Commissioner of the City of Cupertino effective January, 1,2006.
It has been 5 years since my appointment as a planning commissioner for the City of
Cupertino. During these 5 years, I was fortunate to work with all of you in different
capacities and in different occasions. I must say that it has been a satisfying and
rewarding experience for me personally. It was exciting to take part in many decisions
that helped shape our great City, and I am honored to earn your friendship at the same
time.
1 have discussed my decision with some of you before today. I am grateful for your
understanding. I am sure that with the dedication of all of you, the Commission will
collaborate well with the City Council to achieve our common goal- to build a great city
for all of us to live.
Once again, thank you for your friendship and support for the last 5 years. Although not
working on the planning commission, I will continue to contribute to our city through
other voluntary activities. At this festive time, 1 sincerely wish you happy holidays and
may God bless you and your family with a healthy and prosperous New Year.
Truly yours,
/s/
Angela Chen
