MESSAGE 09 26 83
1. Underground parking areas shall be separated from each other by four- (4)
hour construction with three- (3) hour opening protection on both sides of
the property line. These properties shall be tied together or communicating
openings at property line cannot be permitted.
2. Each parking area shall have independent pedestrian access and exits.
3. All buildings shall be provided with sprinklers, standpipes, and other life

6. The developer should participate in a program which will enhance the fire
defenses of the city with a goal of obtaining the objective as outlined in
our letter of 19 April 1982 to Bob Cowan, Cupertino Planning Department.
7. The parking structure roof shall be designed to accept several pieces of
fire apparatus such as when staging occurs.
8. Any changes in the parking lot traffic pattern shall be approved by the
Central Fire Protection District. This will preclude exclusion from the
structure at future changes.
9. Fire department accessways should be 25 feet in width.
10. Provide a fire control command room on the first floor at a location approved
