Greetings,
RE: Weed Abatement Notice/Program _ Stevens Creek LP 19160 Stevens Creek Blvd. / APN 357 ‐7‐001 and 357 07 061
As per the Agenda instructions, please read this email into the meeting minutes, inclusive of the attached form. I have
registered for and will attend the City Council meeting tonight.
We are in receipt of your notice that the Weed Abatement Season has commenced. I am writing because I believe we
are on this list in error. Our development department is under the impression tat the weed abatement program is
primarily for vacant lots, is this correct? The address in question, 19160 Stevens Creek Blvd. has been developed for two
years and is a fully occupied affordable housing complex for seniors.
In any case, when we received a similar notification in January 2020 I called the Santa Clara County Weed Abatement
office and spoke to Brian (last name unknown) who stated he would drive by the property and verify that the lot had in
fact been developed. Shortly thereafter he called back to say that he drove by the property and we would be placed on
the exempt list, the Built and Landscape Exemption.
I received another notice in/around December 2020 and again called the office and spoke to Brenda Petroni. She
instructed me to complete and return the attached compliance form, which I did on December 21, 2020, indicating we
would maintain the lot(s) in accordance with the weed abatement policy. (However, it was on regular white bond paper
and in a business envelope as I am telecommuting and didn’t have any blue paper, so perhaps it was overlooked.) Ms.
Petroni also stated there is an error with the APNs, saying that 357 07 001 doesn’t exist, and that 357 07 061 is the
correct APN.
Are these two different weed abatement programs? Will we in fact receive said abatement notice each year irrespective
of buildout status?
Best regards,
Larisa Troche, SRM
