RESOLUTION NO. 1523
• OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL FOR
A MINOR REMODELING OF AN EXISTING SERVICE STATION AND
PLANNED DEVELOPMENT SIGN PROGRAM

Prospect Road
FINDINGS:
The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with regard
to this application:
1) The proposed signs as conditioned are in conformance with Chapter 17 of
the Municipal Code.
2) The proposed site improvements are in conformance with current City
Standards.
• CONDITIONS:
1-8) Standard Architectural and Site Approval Committee conditions to the
extent that they do not conflict with the special conditions listed
herein. In the event of conflict, the specific conditions listed
herein shall prevail.
9) The approval is based upon Sheets A-1.1, A-1.2, A-2.1,
and Lrl.l dated February 20, 1990 of Application ASAC-51,889.1 except
as may be amended by conditions enumerated herein.
10) Street numbers shall be displayed on the monument sign with a minimum
3 inch number height.
il) All unapproved signs shall be removed from the site prior to issuance
of building permits, with the exception of those signs specifically
mentioned in Condition 12.
12) This approval permits one (1) monument sign, as indicated on Sheet
A-9.1 consisting of the same square footage as the existing monument
sign, and three (3) building mounted signs, including one (1) name
identification and two (2) logos only. These may be located on
spanner, building, or canopy.
13) The State mandated price sign shall be included in the monument sign
as provided in Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code. Sign "G" as
indicated on Sheet A-9.1 is not permitted. No other free standing
price signs are permitted.

4111 14) Central Fire District requirements for hazardous waste clean up shall
be followed for removal and replacement of the gasoline storage tanks.
15) All vehicles being repaired or kept on site shall be kept in
designated parking stalls. Storage of and repair vehicles outside
designated areas is prohibited subject to Chapter 11.29 of the
Municipal Code and Use Permit 19-U-87. The applicant shall work with
Staff to include more paring stalls with a maximum of ten (10) stalls
including one (1) handicap space.
16) One parking stall shall be designated as a handicapped parking space.
17) The Escalonia plant as indicated on Sheet L-1.1 shall be replaced with
plants requiring less water. The fifteen (15) gallon Liquid Ambar
Styraciflua shall be replaced with an appropriate drought tolerant
tree requiring less maintenance and of similar size. The final
selection shall be approved by Staff.
18) The trash enclosure gate shall be constructed of steel board and
batten with the design and paint to resemble wood.
19) All on-site lighting shall be reviewed and approved by Staff for
conformance with City standards.
20) A drip irrigation system for the narrow landscaping planters shall be
111 explored. If Staff finds the system to be inappropriate, low-flow
spray heads providing less than .85 gallon per hour evaporation rate
shall be used. Trees shall be irrigated with a bubbler system. The
landscape planter on the west side of the site shall be expanded to
integrate with the wheel stops. The applicant shall work with Staff
to expand the landscaping planter adjacent to the bus stop on Prospect
Road with final approval by Staff.
