ROEBUCK & CO. Requesting approval to mount a satellite dish on the roof of an existing retail store located on Stevens Creek Boulevard, west of Wolfe Road. ENCLOSURES: a. Description of project and exhibits (10 pages) b. Policy memorandum, dated October 11, 1988 COMMENTS: 1. ASAC review is required under Policy 4(b) of the attached memo. is The proposed satellite dish will be screened from the public street by an existing eight foot high wall around the perimeter of the roof (see Figure 3.2.3-1 of Enclosure a). There are no staff concerns. ITEM 2) (Informal review) ASAC APPLICATION 46-U-87 - W A T K I N S COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES (BOTTEGAS CENTER) Requesting informal review of architectural changes for a multi -tenant retail center to be located on the north side of Stevens Creek Boulevard, between Bandley Drive and Saich Way. ENCLOSURES: a. Council Action Letter, dated April 11, 1988 b. Site plan and elevations (three sheets) COMMENTS: 1. As required by condition number 20 of 46-U-87, ASAC is to review modifications to the eastern elevation. 2. As required by conditions 13 and 15, the landscape plans and signs for the center are also subject to ASAC approval. FORMAL REVIEW ITEM 4) ASAC APPLICATION 51.826.1 - WORTHINGTON CHEVROLET Requesting approval of a change to existing pipe bollards along the Stevens Creek Boulevard frontage for an existing auto dealership located on the northeast corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Stelling Road. ASAC scope of review per amended condition 15 of Resolution 4049: . approval of replacements for the existing green pipe bollards with more architecturally pleasing bollards. . RECOMMENDATION: Approve ASAC 51,826.1 according to the findings and conditions of the model resolution. ITEM 5) ASAC APPLICATION 21 U 86 GROSVENOR INTERNATIONAL CA LTD. (TANDEM COMPUTER) Requesting approval of changes in exterior colors and materials for an office building to be located at the northeast corner of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tantau Avenue. Displays showing the previously approved and proposed materials and colors will be available at the hearing. 2. Vestibule pavilions will be added to building one and the energy center link, to be "Tandem red" in color. All materials which were previously approved will remain the same, but will have a revised color scheme. RECOMMENDATION: Approve ASAC 21-U-86 according to the findings and conditions of the model resolution ITEM 6) ASAC APPLICATION 51. 822.1 - MID -WAY SIGN CO.(PORTAL PLAZA CENTER) Requesting approval of modifications to an approved Planned Development Sign Program for freestanding signs for a multi -tenant retail complex located on the north side of Stevens Creek Boulevard between Portal Avenue and Perimeter Road. ENCLOSURES: a. Model Resolution b . Resolutions 1429 and 1431 is c. Site plan and sign details (two sheets) COMMENTS: 1. ASAC approved the sign program for Portal Plaza in two parts, on November 14 and 28, 1988. The applicant is now requesting approval to locate a new freestanding sign near the northwest comer (approved location is the northeast corner). 2. In addition, the applicant is requesting approval to ' install two new freestanding signs and to have the existing bank sign remain. Typically a complex such as Portal Plaza is limited to two freestanding signs. RECOMMENDATION: Approve ASAC 51,822.1 according to the findings and conditions of the model resolution. ITEM 7) ASAC APPLICATION 18-EXC-88_ THAO PHAN Requesting approval of an exception from the second story setback provisions of Urgency Ordinance 1438 for a single family residence to be located at the northerly terminus of Adriana Avenue. That application was requesting approval for exceptions to the required front, side and rear yard second story setbacks as established by Urgency Ordinance 1438. 2. The applicant has redesigned his plans, and now meets the required second story setbacks for the front and rear yards. This application is for an exception to the required side yard setback only. SUBJECT Referral from the Architectural and Site Approval Committee regarding a change in exterior colors and materials for an approved office center to be located at. the northeast corner of Tantau Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard. II. DISCUSSION The applicant is requesting approval of modifications to the approved exterior materials for the Grosvenor International office buildings currently under construction at Tantau Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard. The changes are being made to accommodate the tenant, Tandem Computer. There were no issues raised by the Committee regarding the proposed changes,, which include the addition of vestibule pavilions at the entrances 'to building one and the energy link center, and a revised color scheme for the entire project. III. RECOMMENDATION The Committee unanimously approved the changes as proposed in the attached letter from the architectural firm of Robinson, Mills and Williams.
