In April, 1987, ASAC approved the."Fortune's" ground sign on this site because of: - the flexibility provided by Planned Development zoning - Fortune's decision to forego concurrent display of a building mounted sign B) The Fortune's ground sign was 8 feet tall, with 34 s.f. per face; the present proposal is 8 feet high with 55 s.f. per face. C) Proposed parapet sign exceeds 70% of the length of the surface to which attached; staff suggests that approval of the freestanding display at a larger size than that of the former Fortune's sign should preclude use of a building sign. D) Proposed neon window display counts as a second building mounted sign. E) If ground sign display is approved, street numbers should be added, and shrubs planted to conceal concrete base. F) Illuminated entry/exit signs implicitly required by Use Permit Condition 22 requiring exit driveway to SCB to be well -marked. RECOMMENDATION Approval according to the findings and conditions stated in the Model Resolution. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: ITEM 4) MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 26, 1988:
