BACKGROUND i 1 r41 The purpose of the request.is°to;offcially approve a height increase to:.: a:structure.which is nearly .:complete.;:.'-The=unauthorized increase in height`'of the existing structure was apparently unintentional. The Architectural and Site Approval Committee reccmmends approval of the height increase subject to a condition of approval which requires the placement of trees on the south boundary of the lot. Mrs. Reid, a neighboring resident, informed ASAC that she was not pleased with the height, of the structures but that she did not want the construction work halted. She apparently did not want unsightly construction activity to be perpetuated. Mrs. Reid also expressed a concern about precedence. Mrs. Reid was informed by the City Attorney.,,,and ASAC that approval of the application would not resort in a precedent setting action. However, Mrs. Reid was informed that the duplex ordinance permits a structure to reach a height of 30 ft. Staff informed ASAC that a request would be made, to City Council to consider height criteria .to 'd6able:ASAC to -'more effectively regulate the height of duplexes. f III.
