SUMMARY MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND
SITE APPROVAL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO FOR SEPTEMBER 11, 1989.
MEETING HELD IN CONFERENCE ROOM A, CITY HALL, AT 10300 TORRE AVENUE,
CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Chairman Miller

ITEM 1) (FORMAT; REVIEW) APPLICATION ASA . 51.826.2
WORTHINGTON CHEVROLET Requesting approval of modifications
to a Planned Development Sign Program for an auto dealership
located on the north side of Stevens Creek Boulevard, east of Stelling
Road.
This item was continued to September 25, 1989, as there was no
authorized representative in attendance.
INFORMAL REVIEW
ITEM 2) (INFORMAL REVIEW) APPLICATION ASA . 7- 1-87 - REED &
ASSOCIATES (STELLA ESTATES) Requesting informal review of
modifications to a previously approved landscape plan for a four
unit single family residential project to be located on the McClellan
Road hairpin turn, northerly of Clubhouse Lane.
Terry Brown, contractor for the project, and Harvey Hoffmaster,
landscape architect, were present for this item.
ISSUES:'
- Spacing of plants within the criblock wall
- Sidewalk along McClellan Road abruptly ends on hairpin curve
- Change of species to be planted in the wall sections
CONSENSUS:
- Boston Ivy and Trumpet Vine acceptable
- The sidewalk should end on the northerly side of the driveway
for lot 4, rather than extending to the curve

ITEM 3) (INFORMAL REVIEW) APPLICATION ASA 4- -89 -
PENINSULA BIBLE CHURCH Requesting informal review of a
comprehensive landscape plan for an existing church located on the
west side of Blaney Avenue, north of Cedar Tree Lane.
Tim Verschuyl, project architect, was present for this item.
ISSUES:
- Should additional landscaping be done
- Privacy problems for surrounding neighbors
- All trees around perimeter of the parking lot are planted an
adjacent properties
CONSENSUS:
- Encourage more landscaping as it will improve the site; more
greenery is desirable.

ITEM 4) Minutes of the regular meeting of August 28, 1989
The Minutes of August 28 were not received in the Committees'
® packets. Therefore this item was continued to the next agenda.
ADJOURNMENT

in Conference Room A of City Hall.
