INFORMAL REVIEW OF PLANNED DEVELOPMENT USE PERMIT
ITEM 1) APPLICATION ASAC 36-U-86 REVISED - DE ANZA PROPERTIES
Requesting informal review of architectural changes to an approved
apartment building to be located on the south side of Stevens Creek
Boulevard, east of Torre Avenue.
ISSUES:
is_Roofing material: metal versus composition shingle
Vertical elements should be broken up more
- Tying in the project with the Cupertino Bank building versus the
Chateau Cupertino project.
- The Stevens Creek Boulevard elevation looks like the back of a
building
CONSENSUS:
The Committee like certain aspects of each design, but generally
preferred the revised elevations since they provide more
architectural interest. The project should be tied in architecturally
to the Cupertino National Bank building since both the bank and the
new apartments will be visible from Stevens Creek Boulevard. The
metal roofing is preferred for this reason. The open railings for the
balconies and the modifications to the openings of the underground
parking garage were seen as positive changes.
