OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE APPROVAL CON=EE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOmmENDING APPROVAL OF
LANDSCAPING, LIGHTING AND CONSTRUCTION DETAILS FOR
EXPANSION OF THE CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX.

FINDINGS:
The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with regard
to this application:
1) That the proposed landscape plan and related site development
details are consistent with the intent of Condition 20 of Use Permit
47 U-85.
CONDITIONS:
1-8) Standard Architectural and Site Approval Conditions to the extent
that they do not conflict with the special conditions listed herein.
In the event of conflict, the specific conditions listed herein
shall prevail.
9) The recommendation of approval is based on Exhibits C-1 through C-6
inclusive of ASAC 51,651.1, except as may be amended by conditions
• specified herein.
10) The proposed "Brazilian Pepper" box specimens on the east perimeter
shall be maintained at a maximum height of thirty (30) feet.
11) a) The lower boughs of the existing Redwood Trees shall be pruned
minimally to alleviate potential security problems.
b) An alternative species to the proposed Sequioia trees shall be
selected prior to City Council approval of the planting palette
so that the significance of the historic Bicentennial Redwood
Grove is not diluted through overstatement of new Redwood
plantings.
12) The proposed Chinese Pistache specimens on the site frontage shall
emphasize use of the "Keith Davy" cultivar or equivalent male
variety to reduce maintenance associated with the tree's fruit
bearing cycle.
13) Three existing specimen trees adjacent to the refurbished soccer
field shall be retained or replaced on a one -for -one basis with 30"
box specimens emphasizing shading capability, and shall be subject
to staff approval.

14) The entry feature planting areas at each entry to the Library shall
be filled with annuals or compact shrubs to facilitate visibility of
public entry spaces.
