Reso 1212RESOLUTION NO. 1212 OF THE ARC =CIURAL AND SITE APPROVAL COMNri''ITEE OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO APPROVING A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT SIGN PROGRAM FOR PHASE I, OF AN APPROVED HOTEL iPROPERTY OWNER: Vallco Park, Ltd. APPLICANT: Marriott Corp. ADDRESS: Marriott Drive Washington, D.C. 20058 LOCATION: Stevens Creek Blvd at Finch Avenue FINDINGS: The Architectural and Site Approval Committee finds as follows with regard to this application: 1) That the proposed sign program exceeds the number of advertising devices and dimensional limitations for'Commercial identification prescribed in Section 17.24.340 of the Sign Code. However, the ASAC finds that additional signing allowance is justified in this case due to the scale of the project and its location within a developing urban complex. CONDITIONS: 1-8) Standard Architectural and Site Approval Conditions to the extent that they do not conflict with the special conditions listed herein. In the event of conflict, the specific conditions listed herein shall prevail. 10 9) The recommendation of approval is based on Exhibits F-1 and F-2 of ASAC 51,654.1, except as may be amended by conditions specified herein. 10) The proposed Northeast -facing building -mounted sign on the tower as indicated on Exhibit F-2 shall be reduced to 200 sq. ft. in total face area, and shall be constructed of solid metal letters backlit in neutral lighting color, subject to staff approval. The sign above the Porte cochere,, as included on Exhibit F-2, shall be constructed of solid metal letters backlit in neutral lighting color, subject to staff approval. The proposed tower display facing southwest as indicated on Exhibit F-2 is not approved. Likewise, the northwest and southeast facing displays indicated on Exhibit F-3 are not approved. 11) The proposed freestanding and directional sign components of the sign program, depicted on Exhibit F-1, are approved subject to approval by the Planning Commission and/or City Council, as the case may be, of an amended site plan under the project Use Permit 'allowing additional curb cuts on Finch Avenue. - 1 - 0 RESOLUTION NO. 1210 (ASAC 51,654.1) 05/27/86 Page - 2 - PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of May, 1986, at a regular meeting of the Architectural and Site Approval Committee of the City of Cupertino, State of California, by the following roll -call vote: AYES: MEMBERS: Jackson, Mann, Chapman NAYS: MEMBERS: Chr.
