Subject:Minutes from May 16,2019 Recommended Action: Approve Minutes from May 16,2019 Approved with no modifications. { ORAL COMMUNICATIONS During this portion of the meeting community members may address the Council on any relevant matter. Subject:Proposed amendments to Chapter 2.40 (Disaster Council) of the Cupertino Municipal Code Recommended Action:Discuss proposed amendments to Chapter 2.40 (Disaster Council) of the Cupertino Municipal Code i Clare F. discussed major proposed changes to the ordinance: definition of'emergency', change of Chair and Vice-Chair, and others outlined in the staff report. f Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services made some recommendations for additional specifics. Cupertino Disaster Council Page 2 3.Subject:Presentation to Adopt the City of Cupertino Annex to the Santa Clara County Community Wildfire Protection Plan(CWPP) as the City of Cupertino Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Recommended Action: Receive presentation of the City of Cupertino Annex to the Santa Clara County Community Wildfire Protection Plan as the City of Cupertino's Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Clare F. and John Justice(SCCFD) gave a presentation on the scope and purpose of the CWPP:mitigation plan compiled by SCCFD with the intent to reduce wildfire risks.This will be going before the City Council next Tuesday for adoption. 4. Subject:Discussion regarding Public Safety Power Shutoff(PSPS) Clare F., Dave Flamm, Dana Reed—Discussed currently know threats and hazards of a PSPS. They gave context for what to reasonably expect. STAFF AND COMMITTEE REPORTS 5. Subject:Report by the Santa Clara County Fire Department , Recommended Action:Receive report by the Santa Clara County Fire Department liaison I: a. Emergency Management County OEM Provided additional comments regarding the PSPS. Discussed current annexes the County is working on.Also discussed the Training and Exercise Program. b. Community Education Loren from SCCFD discussed CWPP and PG&E workshops. I' i I 6. Su_ bject:City of Cupertino Office of Emergency Services (OES) Recommended Action: Receive report by the City of Cupertino OES liaison Clare F. gave a report on OES, including section training,training plan, Continuity of Operations Plan(COOP) quotes, and annexes to the City EOP. 7. Subject:Report by Citizen Corps Recommended Action: Receive report by the Citizen Corps liaison Bob Cascone gave Citizen Corps update. Next meeting: November 21,2019.
