MINUTES OF THE MAY 9, 1973 H-CONTROL MEETING
Chairman McLar'en spoke to condition to ensure landscaping for the
station along the north and west property lines be installed at the
same time as that of the shopping center,
Member Weinstein asked about illumination of sign. Discussion
followed on average foot lambert of.signsa Mr. Crum said he would
be willing to leave brightness of sign. subject to review by Staff.
Exxon can turn sign to whatever degree of brightness is deemed
appropriate.
Member Weinstein suggested there should be some quantative standards
of brightness ,set for future decisions,
Member Sallan was apprised of what had transpired previous to her
arrival. She reiterated her desire to have junipers replaced with
something of more vertical interest.
Member Sallan suggested the sign could be lowered even more, Mr.
Crum said he had already asked Exxon to, reduce sign from 16-1/2'
to 14-1 /_21 to which they had complied. He would prefer not to ask
for further change in height
Chairman McLaren announced this was a Public Hearing and asked for

increased to 6 and that the variety selected be a low
growing variety of oleander with a full growth height of
approximately .6°0
(2) That the street planters next to the sidewalk have planting
material changed to xylosma and Lily of the Nile agapanthus
and the numbers of xylosma be increased to at least 5 to
