Mr. Anderson reported that he had ,.e:eived information that the
bill ot $374.00 vould be þaid by the Fre~man Paving Company and
its insurance carrier, and that the re,eipt ot this check vould
tinal17 settle the matter.

Attorney Anderson had been asked to research the matter of City
Ordinances and the State Map Act tor lot splits. He now reported that
there is, betore the County, an ordinance proposal for a 2 x 4 lot split
ordinance, vhich vculd mean t.hat an owner of a parcel of ,.eal property
could not split his property into four lo~s or less without getting per-
mission from t.he County. The State Map Act provides that the ordinance
applies on17 to sub-divisio~ ~t lots resulting in five or more lots. Mr.
Anderson stressed, however, the fact that this is still a proposal, and
that the old ordinance vould stl11 govern. The City of Cupertino, howev~r,
has a sub-division ordinance requiring the tiling of tentative maps where
&n7 spllt of land occurs, regardless of the number ot lots, or vhere there
is a change in the use of a single lot.
As requested by the Council, and in ansver to &:legations by Mrs.
Fritz ot 22005 Regnart Road, Cupertino, during the last ~eting, M,.. Ander-
son reported that he h~d been in touch vith t.he attorneys tor the ovner ot
the propert7 under discussion. He also said that he had received a letter
trom the attorne)'s, stating that theil' client now knows that he is in viola-
tion of t.he Cit7 Ordinance, that a tentative map vould be tiled as soon as
possible, and that the owner vishes to cooperate to the fullest extent. t.o
eliminate &n7 violation.
