CC Resolution No. 9368 RESOLUTION NO, 9368 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF CUPERTINO AND CUPERTINO EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, several discussions have been held over proposals concerning wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment between representatives of the City and of the Cupertino Employees' Association, the recognized majority representative of the Miscellaneous Unit, and WHEREAS, the agreement has been mutually obtained through these discussions as to amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding adopted by the City Council on July 5, 1994, as listed herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cupertino does hereby adopt the amendments as summarized herein which will be incorporated into the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties this 19th day of June, 1995, by the following: VOTE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AYES: Bautista, Sorensen, Burnett NOES: None ABSENT: Koppel, Dean ABSTAIN: None APPROVED: /s/ Don Burnett Vice Mayor, City of Cupertino ATTEST: /s/ Kimberly Smith City Clerk General Summary of Amendments to Memorandum of Understanding Between The City of Cupertino and the City Employees' Association 1. Term: 7/1/95 - 6/30/97, 2. Total compensation adjustment: 7/1/95 to 6/30/96 - 2,75%, 7/1/96 to 6/30/97 - Minimum 2,0%, Maximum 4,0%, based on Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, May 1995/May 1996, San Francisco Bay Area Index, 3, Total compensation survey to ascertain that the City of Cupertino ranks in the top four cities in Santa Clara County for specified benchmark classifications, 4, An Employee Assistance Program will be provided effective January 1, 1996, 5, Dental Insurance premium - City to increase contribution from $56,05 per month to $63,57 per month effective July 1, 1995, 6, Administrative amendments addressing the following issues: a, Catastrophic leave policy, b, Payment for leave accumulations upon termination, c, Opportunity for employees to purchase life insurance at group rates, d, Accrual of leave credits, e, Eligibility to use vacation credits, 7, The City of Cupertino will be conducting a study to review employee leave practices in other cities, The City will meet with the City Employees' Association in the spring of 1996 to review the findings of the study,
