A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
PROVIDING FOR 'SALARTES AND WAGES OF MANAGEMENT AND
CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES
VTHEREAS, employees of the City of Cupertino in the Public Works Unit
and in the Miscellaneous Employees Unit have organized and elected to be
represented for the purposes of meeting and conferring in good faith with
management in the areas of salaries, benefits and working conditions; and
WHEREAS, the'City of Cupertino wishes to further the concept of a
management team with its officers and employees who have been designated as
management and confidential employees; and
WHEREAS, said management and confidential employee salaries and wages
need to be increased to reflect the competitive labor market and to alleviate
recruitment and retention problems:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Cupertino:
Section 1. That all classes.and employees previously designated as
management or confidential positions or employees and which employees hereto-
fore have been paid a salary or wage at a rate of pay contained in the
Schedule of Pay Grades effective June 28, 1972 shall continue to be paid pur-
suant to the.provisions of the Pay Plan at a rate of pay as set forth for the
appropriate class as contained in the Schedule of Pay Grades adopted June 25,
1973 by City of Cupertino Resolution No. 3494 to become effective June 27, 1973.
Section 2. The salaries, wages or rates of pay for those officers
amd employees whose classes of positions are not subject to being assigned
to a pay grade within the Schedule of Pay Grades under the Pay Plan shall be
as set forth in the attached Salary Schedule and are to become effective
June 27, 1973.
Section 3. Pursuant to Section 10.6 of the Rules, the City shall pro-
vide a program of dental insurance coverage as offered by California Dental
Service and known as General Dental Program A. Said program shall include cover-
age for orthodontics as an available option and for the payment of the prescribed
additional premium therefor. The cost of the premiums for the insurance provided
under said program shall be paid by the City for the employee and his dependents
to the extent that such premium cost shall not exceed $13.95 per month or the
actual cost of the premium whichever is less per covered employee. The effective
date of said program shall be July 1, 1973 or as soon thereafter as the agree-
ment with California Dental Service can be concluded.

SALARY SCHEDULE
Effective June 27, 1973
The salaries, wages or rates of pay for those officers and employees
whose classes of positions are not subject_ to being assigned to a pay grade
within the Schedule of Pay Grades under the Pay Plan shall be as set forth
below. Said salaries, wages or rates of pay shall not be changed without
specific approval of the City Council; provided, however, hourly rates of
pay for intermittent part-time employees may be established or changed by
the Appointing Authority as provided by the Pay Plan.
