CC Resolution No. 3492RESOLUTION NO. 3492 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPxRTINO, STATE: OF CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING HAZARnOUS FIRE AREA MAPS WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino has adopted the Uniform Fire Code, 1973 Edition, which is designated Chapter 16.40 of the Cupertino Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, Section 1.410 of the Uniform Fire Code, 1973 Edition, defines hazardous fire area as "any land which is covered with grass, grain, brush or forest, whether privately or publicly owned, which is so situated, -or is of such inaccessible location, that a fire originating upon such land would present an abnormally difficult job of suppression or would result in great and unusual damage through fire or resulting erosion". The section further provides that hazardous fire areas shall be designated by the Fire Chief on a map which shall be maintained in the Office of the Fire Chief; and WHEREAS,.the Fire Marshal of the County of Santa Clara has prepared hazardous fire areamapspursuant to Section 1.410 of the Uniform Fire Ccde, 1913 Edition: and WHEREAS, the hazardous fire areas are particularly described on 1" 500 feet scale, Santa Clara County cadastral planimetrics maps, commonly IcnoUm as Sheet Nos. 79 and 96 as produced by the Santa Clara County Depart- ment of Public Works; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cupertino hereby adopts the hazardous fire area maps prepared by the County Fire ?Marshal to be maintained in the Office of the Department of Planning and Development and Fire Chief., and further authorizes the Fire ;Chief to revise these maps from time to time to accurately reflect the current status of hazardous fire areas throughout the City.
