Mr. Francis Goet:.,, from Oakland, representing Geinco. Service Station,
said that this addition to the structure is really needed nowL, Thea,
would like to start construction January 23rd, Due to some over-
sight, the complete set of plans is in Los Angeles.
Mr, Small asked for a review of the August 27, 1963, H -Control
Minutes, which first reviewed this application. At that time,
motion was made and seconded to approve the plans as presented,
with the following conditions:
1) Minimum of 8 low spreading junipers in 21 wide planter along th::
north masonry wall.
2) Masonry work - and lighting system to be the same type as.rest of
the building'.
Motion passed unanimously.
When this application reached the City Council, they were against
the scissors --type fence across the front, They preferred a roll
down type door to secure tae place at right, This advise was turned
over to their engineers, who stated that, due to the slope of the
canopy roof (to tie in vTith original building) the roll -down type
door is not feasible on.,that portion facing Stevens Creek Blvd.
The entire back area (new and old portions) will have the roll--
clown door, however. Mr. Goetz said that within six months:.after
this addition is built., nobody will be able to tell it was not a
part of the original structure.
Mr. Goetz assured the Committee he would check with Mr. Andy
Anderson about camoflaging for the air conditioning units on the
roof of Gemco. Mr. Goetz cannot authorize this himself. He said
J. Y. Long is preparing the latest plans for Gemco.
