The City Manager discussed the following items from his report: Homestead k Stelling Signal - The 'City of Sunnyvale has received a bid of $8,278.00. This is $507 lower than their engineering department's estimate. It is recommended Council give their approval. Councilman Pinch moved that the request as stated by the City Manager be approved. Seconded by Councilman Dempster. Councilman Jewett moved that the proposed purchase of property for the Civic Center be forwarded to the Planning Commission for their review. Seconded by Councilman Dempeter.All in favor. The City Manager recommended that specifications be submitted for placing the Wolfe Road Bridge to bid next spring. Councilman Jewett moved the City Manager be authorized to have the City Engineer draw up plans for the Wolfe Road br'_dge. S- conded by Counocilman Finch. All in favor. Regarding a meeting with the Board of Supervisors, Mayor Benetti felt a member of the board should meet with a representative of the City so tb:=t the Hi.;:-.ay 9 agreement could be resolved at an early date. Councilman Jewett concurred. The Council instructed the City Manager to meet with Howard Campen, County Zxecutive, Board of Supervisors and attempt to resolve the matter. CITY ENGINEER's KPORT A. Tract No. 2353, Triumph Unit No. 2 (Ftie Cup. 61 -10) The municipal Improvements have been consL_.rcted in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Moved by Councilman Dempster, seconded by Councilman Jewett that a minute order be approved, accepting the improvemm -ats for Tract 2953• All in favor. Tract 53154, Triumph Unit No. 3 (Pile Cup. 61 -13) The municipal improvements have been constructed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Moved by Councilman Jewett, seconded by Councilman Saich that a minute order be approved, accepting the improvements for Tract , #3054• All in favor. The question was raised about the report ou gas tax bill. The City Manager reported the information had been received and is being prepared for distribution. It was mentioned that Foothills College is In the midst of plans to name the second campus. There has been a suggestion of Cupertino Campus of Foothills College. It was moved by Council Pinch, seconded by Councilman Saich that a reeoemendation be made to the Board of Directors of Foothill College that the City Council of Cupertino would like Cupertino in the name of the campus. All in favor. The City Cleric reported there is a cremation service available for $20 par year, for disposing of puld =pons on the avatar bonds. Since this amount is less than it would cost the city to store the coupons, the -3- City blerk recommended use of the service. Councilman Jewett moved that the City :!angZer authorize the City Clerk to subscribe to the cremation service for the water bond coupons. Seconded by Councilman Dempster.
