A. REPORT OF CITY 2FSAMM: The City Treasurer stated that he
hod no further report to make at this time.
B. REPORT OF CITY MANAGER:
Ths City Manager commented on Regrart Creek fencing. He stated
that he w53 to have received an answer to his letter on the Friday
Preceding the meeting. Since the letter did not arrive, he placed a
cc-11 to Flood Control and spoke with Mr. Don Currlin, Manager- Counsel,
and was told that Flood Control could not construct a fence along this
ditch without an appropriation from the Board of Supervisors.
Councilman Jewett moved that in the interest of the safety of the
youngsters who may be playing in the vicinity of this ditch that the
City Manager be instructed to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors
requesting that they appropriate funds for the construction of this
fence. Seconded by Councilman Finch.
The City Manager further commented on the Eilversdo ditch. Due to
the need for storm drainage at this time, It will not be possible to
fill In this ditch. Until the storm drain pipe is laid, this will
be the only means of taking the run -off from McClellan Road.
Mr. Ralph Ramona, from Town & Country Realty, stated that there
were come apartment buses in the works and will be ready to move, if
the Town Center application is approved, within six months. As a
normal condition for improvement, part of this pipe will be installed
and will partially alleviate the cossdltion of the open ditch.
The City Manager asked for a decision on the street light on the
corner of Mariana and Highway 9, stating that this would be a bra3ket-
type light. There would be no installation charge, the City would
have to pay for the energizing, which would be approximately $3.50 Per
month.

the City Manager be instructed to contact PG&E to have the bracket

Mayor Benettl asked the City Manager to ingclre with regard to a
trafris carat an Highway 9 . The reason being that from all appearhnees
traffic has increased considerably since the last one was taken, and it
may be possible that it has gone beyond the point where a fall Clover-
leaf may be justified, rather than the diamond interchange presently pro-
posed for Highway 9 and Homestead Road.
The City Manager was also instructed to look into a rumor that a
school site was proposed for Homestead Road and Blaney Avenue. This
1s a prime piece of property and, if the school purchases it, it will
be taken off the tar rolls. If the rumor is correct, the City Manager
was Instructed to write to the Cupertino Elementary School Board a:d
advise them that the City Council objected to a school in this particu-
