The "r opened the meeting by referring to the budget submitted
to the Council by the City Nnnn6er under date of July 29. asked
the City Manager for comments.
Mr. store referred to the first four pages of the budget, these
pages comprising the budmat message. The capital improvement Pro-
involves the constructiun of a bridge on Rolf Moad across
Calabasas Creek, the p:echase of land for a civic center site, and
a traffic signal at the intersection of Stelling and 9 stead;
this would be a cost- Sharzfe program with the City of Sunnyvale.
A traffic signal will 8150 be need in the near future at the
intersection of Stevens Creek Blvd. and Wolf Road.
The Mayor asked the City Attorney if he had any comments on the
budget.
The City Attorney said only that a new code section provides that
the budget must be filed, upon adoption, with the County Assessor.
The Mayor recapitulated the capital improvement items.
Councilman Satch asked about widening the sidewalk along Blaney
Avenue on the way to Wilson School. The City Manager answered that
this had already been corrected.
Councilman Finch asked about moving the utility poles along Blaney
Avenue back for the future widening of Blaney Avenue.
The Mayor said that when the area develops further, consideration
will be given to the widening and utility relocation along Blaney.
The Mayor noted that last year's budget and this year's are very
much the same, the mayor difference being the inclusion of the new
well at an estimated cost of $50,000•
The estimated revenues were studied; the staff answered questions
about particular sources of money, both as to the estimate for the
1962 -63 fiscal year and concerning the actual revenue, by depart-
ment, for the 1961 -62 fiscal year which has gust ended. The avail-
