Application: 306-HC-67, Otsen Signs, 15500 Corinne Dr., Los Gatos, requesting Arch. & Site Approval for an. Exception to Sign Ordinance #353, Sec. 6.131,to erect a shopping center sign on Blaney Ave.. for the Boulevard Shopping Center; which is located at Stevens Creek Blvd. and Blaney Ave. It was brought to the attention'of the Committee by the Chief Building Inspector that this is an Exception to a sign ordinance which was published in fhe Cupertino Courier. The reason is that the new existing sign ordinance requires that a shopping center, to qualify for two pole signs must have 400 lineal f eet.of frontage facing two public roadways and a minimum of 5 acres. The Boulevard Shopping Center does comply with the 400 lineal feet, but is less than 5.acres. After considerable discussion on the application, the Committee recommended for approval to the City Council Application 306-HC-67 to place a pole sign on the Blaney Avenue frontage with the following conditions: That it be no larger than 150 sq.ft. in area and similar in quality to the existing shopping center sign. Mr. Charles Rasmussen, resident architect, represented the • application.
