MINUTIES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE AR(THITECTURE AND
SITE CONTROL COMMITTEE, HEIRI 'FEBRUARY 28TH, 1968 AT THE COUNCIL
CHAMBERS., CITY HALL, CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA
The meeting was called to order at 8,.00 p,m. by Chairman Irwin,
who subsequently led the assemblage in the flag salute.
Committee members present: Aguilar,.Fitch, Small, Irwin. Absent:
'Wrmber Kowitz. Also present -.'Chief Building Inspector Benevich,
Recording Secretary Matzley.

--.01hairman Irwin read a letter from Slater & Cqqpany, Realtors,,,
in which Mir. R. E. Slater, 'advised the. Corrimittee members that
the -o-miers of the property at Stevens Creiek'Boulevard and Saich
Way had withdrawn application 325-HC--68 for the construction.

Member Small moved, Member Aguilar seconded and it was passed
unanimously that the letter be acknowledged and filed.
There were no verbal comnunications.
Member Fitch wanted the record to show that Mr. Walter Ward,
the General Manager of Vallco Park, had -shown the Cormiittee..
a large number of slides backing up his. statements relative
to work already performed by other cities in connection with
the proposed planting of the median strip of Wolfe Road between.
Homestead Road and Stevens Creek Boulevard. Menber Fitch
wanted to stress the fact that Mr. -Ward had made.a real effort
in.this area and asked for a recording of this fact so thatJ
at some later time and whenever this or a similar.application
comes before this body, the members of the Corm''littee can keep
this effort in mind.
Member Small also clarified a po'.nt in the contingencies for
recommendation of approval of application 324-HC-68, which were
noted.
Menber Fitch moved, Member Small seconded and it was passed
unanimously that the minutes of the February l4th meeting of
the Architecture and Site Control Committee be approved.

approval to construct duplexes at Tract #41.88, located
approximately 900' west of Foothill Boulevard and north
of Voss Avenue.
Mr. Al Perrotti appeared before the 7- nittee and explained, by
use of architectural renderings anf plot plans, the proposed
construction. He stated that all roofs would be of at least
medium shake, that the materials to be used would be of various
types, such as stucco, redwood or plywood garage doors, certain
amounts of brick and stone, and that a variety of the proposed
material would be used on each building.
Mr. Perrotti also stated that a,ll of the duplexes would have two
baths, and that some buildings would have three bedrooms and others
would have two bedrooms. He also explained the egress and ingress
and stated that he had plans for five corner lots, also that five
different floor plans had been developed. It was Mr. Perrotti's
intention to sell some of his lots to other builders so that
buildings with an entirely different architecture could be con-
structed immediately adjacent to his homes, making the tract
look more attractive and less alike.
Member Aguilar moved that application 327-HC-68 be recommended
HC-4
for approval with the plans as submitted and subject to the ten _
standard conditions

As before, 'hairman Irwin asked that the applicant appear before
the City Council at their next meeting.
There were no listed items under "Unf i—.shed Business", except
that the Committee members talked about including conditions
such as the sign approval, landscaping approval, and landscaping
in conjunction with the installation of a sprinkler Lystem cond-
ition in the existing ten standard conditions.
Member Fite':. asked about the unsightly sign on the Old West Steak
tzsG sst,%:ca: t on Stevens Creek Boulevard and Highway 9. Mr.
Berev1_ch tol(` the Committee that the owner had been asked to
remove the sign any: that he would comply.
The members discussed a number of minor variances to City
Ordinances some of the citizens of Cupertino allow themselves,
and asked that the Chief Building Inspector follow up on them.
There was no "New Business", except that, once again, it was
considered to include sign and landscaping approval, and
sprinkler system installation with the landscaping, in the
standard conditions.
