REPORTS
2. County Fire
Joe Guzzardi, SCC County Fire OES gave quick update regarding Super
Bowl event-no problems; Good practice run for EOC staff.
Distributed attached flyers for upcoming training: CERT, Disaster Cost
Recovery, EOC Basic Training Clinics, EOC Orientation
Discussion followed.
3. Citizen Corps Reports
a) Ken Ericksen submitted and reviewed attached Citizens Corps report
b) Jim Oberhofer submitted attached written report for CARES
c) Bob Cascone reported on EOC Exercise held on 2/7/16 with only 5
people. Discovered many areas need to be addressed. Completing an
after action report.
NEW BUSINESS
4. October Zone One Assessment – Jim Oberhofer
The purpose of this drill was to exercise the Citizen Corps’ ability to organize and
deploy volunteers to do a damage assessment and give Situation Status to the
DOC for Cupertino’s Zone 1 based on an Earthquake scenario.
The main effort of the exercise was to focus on creating small survey teams from
the CERT, CARES, Block Leaders and unaffiliated volunteers who showed up to
participate.

The team kicked off the event at 6:30am and were closed by 1:00pm.
The event activities included Setup, Registration, Status and Mapping, Operations,
Incident Command, DOC, Shutdown, and PIO.
Forty-two (42) CCC members responded.
CCC deployed 15 teams and surveyed 27 out of 80 GIS polygons, covering 1182
houses.
After the drill, feedback was collected and corrected actions were identified.
5. Communication Outage Exercise – Jim Oberhofer
Reported on successful outcome at exercise held on 11/21/15; 22 people
participated; 3 cities involved (Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Altos Hills); next
exercise scheduled in May 2016. Completing an after action report.
OLD BUSINESS
6. The Ideal EOC Report – Chad Mosley submitted report on Desirable Design
Elements for a Cupertino EOC. Discussion followed.
7. ARKnet installation at LeHigh – Jim Oberhofer – Installation scheduled on
2/27/16 on top of the water tank at facility. Additional Ark sites are being
deployed.
8. Citizen Corps Training Calendar submitted and approved
