At a meeting held Tuesday, April 15, at 5:00 P,M., in accordance
with Section 9918 of the Elections Code, the City Council entered
upon its records a statement of the whole number of ballots cast, and
the number for each candidate for each office, as follows: Anthony
J. Pelosi 172, Nick J, Lazaneo 14J, Warner M, Wilson IJ4, George
Palzis 97. The whole number of votes cast in the City being 291,
certified as above by LawrenCe K. Martin, City Administrator-Clerk,
Resolution No. 75 waS adopted and carried 4 - 0 on motion by
Councilman Saiehl seconded by COill1cilman Nathanson declaring .~
r~§~ts of the Municipal Electi~~~£ril 8, 19~8 and stating that
Anthon,Y J L Pelos 1 an!i..P.l.Ql{ J. Lazaneo.. are declared Counc ilman of the
City of Cup~rti~.
A certifi0ate of election and oath of office was then administer"
to the newly elected members of the CityCouncll.
Councilman Saich nominated N~ J" Nathanson as next mayor of the
City of Cupertlnoseconded by Councilman Lazaneo; Mayor Meyerholz
requested that a unanimous ballot be (Jast for N. J"Nathanson as
mayor, So ordered~
Moved by Councilman Pelosi that R, IL Me:yerholz be named as
Mayor pro-t~; seconded by Councilman Lazaneo and a unanimous ballot
was cast for 'R,. I.. ~1eyerholz as Mayor pro tem,. The new Mayor pro-
posed a joint Council-Planning Commission meeting for April 2J with
the interval as time to learn whether Bell and Cali whose terms
expired on Aprlll are interested in reappointment to the Planning
C<)mmission. The Mayor also authorized the City Attorney to draft a
form of ordlnanceproviding for due notice to interested parties in
the case of petitions to City Council or Planning Commission, Mayor
Nathanson appointed Councilman Pelosi, Commissioner of Recreation and
Councilman Lazaneo Commissioner of Building, Health, and Air Pollutio;
and requested that Mr,. Lazaneobe placed on the maill~ list of the
Air PollutionContröl Board, He also proposed the formation of a
Cupertino Citizens Committee.
Burrel Leonard, Chairman of the Planning Commission, was asked
to attend a University of California Planning Conference to be held
at Richmond Ctt.y Hall, May 9. A letter was authorized to the County
requesting that they repair the section of Bollinger Road adjacent
to the Cupertino City Limits,
