Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road 7: 30 P. M .--' I ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Benetti, Jewett, Saich, Pelosi Lazaneo arrived at 8:45. II Mayor stated that the purpÅ’e of the adjourned meeting was to dis- cuss the master storm drainage report submitted by the City Engineer. City Engineer was asked to read the report. At the conclusion, the Council commented on various phases of the report. Principally, the per acre charge that was recommended and its influence on the immediate development and needs of the drainage system in Cupertino. The Council agreed that the per acre charge for: R-I i 150.00 per acre R-2 200.00 per acre plus $15.00 for each additional Commercial 1,100.00 per acre unit It was ordered by the Council that the City Manager submit a work order to the City Engineer to submit a drainage program embodying the per acre cost as approved by the City Council. Councilman Benetti recommended that the Council show in the record that all work performed by the City Engineer's office must be app- roved by the City Manager's office by requisition. Moved by Councilman Benetti that work City Manager's office for engineering Jewett. AYES: NAYS: ABSENT: orders be submitted by the work; Seconded by Councilman Councilmen: Councilmen: Councilmen: Benetti, None None Jewett, Lazaneo, Pelosi, Saich Mayor Pelosi brought up the matter of a ~int meeting with the water commission that had been long overdue and suggested that the Council meet jointly with the water commission Thursday, February 2 at 7:30 P.M. to discuss the master water plan and also the appointment of a water commissioner. Mayor Pelosi said that he had had a call from supervisor Hubbard asking that the Council appoint a citizen in the community who would act as Chairman to promote the $70,000,000 expressway bond issue. The names of J. C. Stevens, superintendent of Cupertino Highschools District and Mr. George Fernandez, superintendent of Cupertino highschool, as possibliities for this chairmanship. The City Manager was instructed to contact Mr. Stevens on this matter. The Mayor asked that the City Manager check with the county library authorities and see if a bicycle stand could be placed in front of the Cupertino library. Mayor Pelosi called to the Council's attention that the Cali prop- erty southwest of the City will no doubt be under development short- ly as well as other properties in the immediate vicinity. He sug- gested that a neighborhood plan be prepared of the area commencing at McClellan Road and the railroad track, then in a westerly direc- tion to Byrne Avenue, then southerly following the incorporated city limits including a portion that is presently within the County but could be within the projected line of Byrne Avenue, extended souvh- erly to Bubb Avenue. At the intersection of Bubb Avenue, and the extended line from Byrne Avenue easterly to the SPRR Track, then northerly along the westerly line of the railroad track to the in- tersection of McClellan Road. Councilman Lazaneo moved that a neighborhood plan be prepared as outlined and the City Manager be instructed to issue a requisition to the Engineering Department; Seconded by Councilman Benetti. 29. I2C The Councilmen received a letter from Mr. Louis Stocklmeir relative to a petition that is being circulated to have Stevens Creek Road closed at the entrance to Permanente Road. Letter was received and filed. The Mayor stated that the Council would take action on the matter when a petition or other official matter was received. The Council authorized the City Manager to approve the bid submitted by Outdoors Products Company for recreational equipment to be in- stalled at Collins School. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 until February 2nd at 7:30. Moved by Councilman Benetti; Seconded by Councilman Jewett.
