July 7, 2004 Minutes of the July 7, 2004 Design Review Committee were postponed. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: POSTPONEMENTS/REMOV AL FROM CALENDAR: ORAL COMMUNICATION: None CONSENT CALENDAR: 1. Application: Applicant: Location: DIR-20O4-10 Rich Alfano 22239 Hammond Way Referral of a Director's Minor Modification to construct a 336 square foot office/ storage building in the rear yard and to exceed the maximum square footage allowed on the lot by approximately 300 square feet. 2 Design Review Committee July 21,2004 Design Review Committee decision final unless appealed. Application: Applicant: Location: R-2004-15 Holly Hartman (Hadap residence) 10110 Lockwood Drive Residential Design Review for an exception for a second story addition to exceed 35% of the first story. Design Review Committee decision final unless appealed. Staff Presentation: Gary Chao, Assistant Planner, briefly described the project. Larry Cannon, Architectural Consultant, has reviewed the plans. Staff recommends approval. Gilbert Wong, Chairperson, asked about setbacks. Rick Hartman, Hometec Architecture, stated that one foot has been removed off the dining/living room. Discussion continued about privacy planting. Application Applicant: Location: EXC-2004-09 Thirumalpathy Balakrishnan 10080 Peninsula Avenue Fence Exception to construct a side yard fence on the property line instead of setback five feet. 3 Design Review Committee July 21, 2004 Design Review Committee decision final unless appealed Staff Presentation: Colin Jung, Senior Planner, briefly described the fence exception and the unique location of the property in Monta Vista. Staff recommends a 3-foot setback and provide landscaping. Discussion continued regarding the fence, the recommended setback and height. Thirumalpathy Balakrishnan, applicant, stated that he wanted a taller fence for his daughter's safety. Discussion continued regarding setbacks and height.
