June 2, 2004 Minutes of the June 2, 2004 Design Review Committee were postponed. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: POSTPONEMENTS/REMOV AL FROM CALENDAR: ORAL COMMUNICATION: None CONSENT CALENDAR: None PUBLIC HEARING: 1. Application: Applicant: Location: ASA-2004-13 Jim Yee (Dahlin Group) 10050 N. Wolfe Road 2 Design Review Committee July 7, 2004 Architectural Site Approval for an approved mixed-use project consisting of 107 condominiums and 6,386 square feet of commercial space. Design Review Committee decision final unless appealed. Staff Presentation: Peter Gilli, Senior Planner, briefly described the project. Mr. Gilli stated that the only issue that would need to be resolved in the future was the public artwork, which would be reviewed by the Fine Arts Committee. The architectural consultant and staff recommend approval. Jim Yee, Dahlin Group, explained that the highlights of the architecture were the granite inserts and the roof material. The landscape and the lighting were also highlights. Jane Vaughan, Menlo Equities, briefly talked about the property, the plaza and future tenants. Discussion continued regarding the landscape, the removal of the trellis and the artwork. Mr. Miller asked about the amenities for the residents. Janet from the Dahlin Group showed the samples in the plan sets. Discussion continued regarding the amenities. Mr. Wong asked about connectivity with Valleo. Ms. Vaughan stated that that was already part of the use permit. Discussion continued regarding future tenants. MOTION: Commissioner Miller moved to approve ASA-2004-13 based on the model resolution with an additional condition for the removal of the trellis in front of Building A. Application Applicant: Location: R-2004-20 (formally EXC-2004-08) Ali Mohaijer 10850 Wunderlich Drive Exception to the R1 ordinance to allow a 5-foot side setback when a 10-foot setback is required to construct a new 3,235 square foot residence. Staff Glush, architect, stated that she agrees with staff. Farideh Misami, owner, explained where the setbacks were. Charles and Mong-wei Chu, 10340 Walnut Circle, supports the project.
