CALL TO ORDER
At 8: 10 a.m. Carol Atwood called the meeting to order in Conference Room A, 10300
Torre Avenue, Cupertino.

NEW BUSINESS
A.
Realtor Business Licenses
Carol Atwood reported that the City is stepping up its efforts to collect business
license fees. She indicated that real estate agents and landscapers are two areas
that are being targeted. Code Enforcement will be distributing business license
information in multiple languages to landscapers they find while in the field. It
was also noted that the Chamber has included an announcement in its newsletter as
well.
B.
Discussion of Proposed Growth Initiatives
Richard Lowenthal discussed the initiative effort and the cost the City will incur
to hold the election. He expressed concern that many businesses will be severely
impacted if the initiative passes.

OLD BUSINESS
A.
Economic Development Plan Update
Steve Piasecki distributed and discussed a list of available space in the city. He
advised the committee that much of the information was dated and would have to
be carefully reviewed before it is available for the public.
Carol Atwood distributed a draft update of the Economic Development Plan and
requested input from the committee.
Jody Hansen will provide a list of targeted business contacts to the next meeting.

B.
Key Development Activity
Steve Piasecki reviewed the current development activity. He also suggested that
Vallco be invited to attend the Economic Development Committee meeting if they
move forward with their plans.
C.
Upcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
Jody Hansen reported that the Star Credit Union would be holding a ceremony on
March 30 at 5:30 p.m.
