Regular Meeting

1. CALL TO ORDER
At 7:40 a.m. Carol Atwood called the meeting to order in Conference Room A of Cupertino
City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino.
2. ROLL CALL
City Staff: Carol Atwood, Bob Cowan, Steve Dowling, Dorothy Steenfott,
Bert Viskovich
Councilmembers: Lauralee Sorensen
Chamber of Commerce: John Statton, George Steele
Absent: John Bautista, Don Brown, Tom Hall, Donna Lawler
3. NEW BUSINESS
A. Economic Summit Invitation List
Carol Atwood distributed the invitation list to the group. The group reviewed the list and
made several changes. Carol asked the group to let her know if there's anyone else they
would like to have attend.
2. OLD BUSINESS
A. Vallco Update
John Statton reported that McDonald's Restaurant did not renew their lease. He stated
that it will probably be picked up by another franchise. Due to the uncertainties
surrounding Vallco Mall most vendors are hesitant to continue doing business there.
B. Davidson Chevrolet Agreement
Bert Viskovich reported that an agreement has not been reached at this time.
C. Site Visit Updates
John Statton reported on a visit he had with Apple Computer. He stated that Apple is
looking for a site for their sales office which will house approximately 30 employees.
John also reported on a visit he had with the owners of the gas station site. The owners
are seeking a sales price of $1.7 million. They have been offered $1.2 million and may
settle for $1.4.
