CALL TO ORDER
At 7:39 a.m. Carol Atwood called the meeting to order at Cupertino City Hall, 10300
Torre Avenue, Conference Room A, Cupertino.

City Staff: Carol Atwood, Don Brown, Bert Viskovich, Steve Dowling,
Chamber: Donna Lawler, Linda Asbury, Bill Jones and Paula Davis
City Council: John Statton
Absent: Bob Cowan, Sandra James, Dorothy Steenfott

NEW BUSINESS
Carol Atwood summarized the shopping center owner/manager meeting. The manager at
the Oaks, Reed Bennett, was very positive about the meeting and the quick response from
both city hall and the chamber. We will hold these meetings every six months.

OLD BUSINESS
A.
Status of Key Development Activity
Carol updated the committee on the status of key development projects. Hilton
Gardens should have occupancy by the end of the week. The Shane Company
opened on September 13 but did not take advantage of any Chamber promotions.
A permanent manager will be on site starting the 22"d and the City/Chamber will
continue to pursue contacts. All other projects on track with nothing new to
report.
B.
Corporate Contact Updates
Gatewav ComDuter: Bert Viskovich made contact with the manager at Gateway
(Gregory Konkoff; 861-0999) who insists that sales tax is reported where the
product is delivered. Carol will contact MRC (the City sales tax consultants) and
follow up with Gateway.
