CALL TO ORDER
At 7 :39 a.m. Carol Atwood called the meeting to order at Cupertino City Hall, 10300
Torre Avenue, Conference Room A, Cupertino.

Chamber: Linda Asbury, Paula Davis, Bill Jones

NEW BUSINESS
A.
Fast 50 Event
Linda Asbury reported the event was very nice. She stated that she and Sandra
James were able to sit at DSP's table.
B.
Site Visits
Carol Atwood distributed congratulatory cards and gift baskets to members of the
committee who will present them to the following companies: CKS, DSP,
Rationale, Any Mountain, Shane Company, and Hilton Gardens.

OLD BUSINESS
A.
Status of Key Development
It was reported that Macy's at Valleo will be hosting the Chamber Mixer on
November 4 and will hold its grand opening on November 7. Don Brown stated
that a public announcement from The Jacobs Group would be made soon stating
that they are now the new owners ofVallco.
It was also reported that the Hilton Garden Inn is open on all floors except the
sixth.
B.
Corporate Contact Updates
Carol Atwood stated that the Gateway sales tax will go to the place the
merchandise is shipped according to a state audit. The City will continue to work
with the State and Gateway Computers to change the current method of reporting
sales tax.
Sandra James reported that Silicon Image has invited her to visit their company
and that they are planning to expand their operations in Cupertino.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMITTEE UPDATES
Carol Atwood distributed a copy of the current rates for office space. She stated that the
rates have gone up compared to other cities, but it does not appear that that has prevented
people from coming to Cupertino.
