CALL TO ORDER
At 7:35 a.m., Carol Atwood called the meeting to order in Conference Room A,
Cupffiino City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue.

OLD BUSINESS
A.
Economic Summit
Carol Atwood asked the committee if they wanted to pursue an economic summit.
It was decided that a small focus group meeting with the owners/managers of the
shopping centers was needed in lieu of a summit. Target centers include
Crossroads, The Oaks, and contacts through Ron Cali
B.
Status of Key Development Activity
Steve Piasecki reviewed the status of key development activity. Richard
Lowenthal asked if the City could contact the manager of The Oaks to find out
what is going on with Andronico's replacing the theater.
Carol Atwood asked if anyone was familiar with a new company called Electron
Economy. She stated that she would contact them regarding the Internet sales tax
incentive policy based on an article in the Wall Street Journal.

Vallco Update
Don Brown gave an update on Vallco and said that the developer will be
submitting a new proposal in mid-March.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMITTEE UPDATES
Steve Piasecki requested the Chamber's assistance with banner sign abuse. Steve will
write an article for the Chamber newsletter. In addition, the Chamber will be requesting
a review of directional signs in conjunction with community events.

Bert Viskovich stated that the Public Works Department is currently reviewing the
situation of abandoned shopping carts and will propose a program shortly.
Linda Asbury requested that future correspondence from the Economic Development
Committee include both the City and Chamber logos.
