NEW BUSINESS
A.
Cupertino Appreciation Day - Selection of Date for 2002
The committee agreed that the event was worthwhile and should continue to be
held. The committee selected August 7 as their first choice, with August 8 and
July 31 as second and third choices.
B.
We Value Youth Program
Richard Lowenthal described the program and stated that Cupertino survey results
indicated that only 10% of the youth feel valued by the community. The
committee discussed several ideas to increase future survey results such as
requesting businesses to post signs that they hire youth, and raising the level of
awareness that youth are valued in the community.
Carol Atwood suggested that a copy of the Cornerstone Survey and videotape,
and survey results which indicate which cities ranked higher than Cupertino be
made available to the committee and revisit the item in February.
C.
Key Development Activity
Steve Piasecki presented an update on current development activity within the
city.
