WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: POSTPONEMENTSjREMOV AL FROM CALENDAR: 2. R-2004-06; Tohn Ha (Do residence), 6522 Clifford Drive Request removal from calendar. ORAL COMMUNICATION: None CONSENT CALENDAR: PUBLIC HEARING: 1. Application: Applicant: Location: ASA-2004-03 Dan Novac (Elephant Bar) 19780 Stevens Creek Boulevard Architectural and Site Approval for exterior changes (color and materials) to an approved retail building (under construction). 2 Design Review Committee Apri17,2004 Design Review Committee decision final unless appealed. Staff Presentation: Peter Gilli, Senior Planner, briefly described the project. Staff is in support of all of the exterior changes. About 25% of the building will be another tenant and staff recommended that a certain amount of the detailing that is being used on the Elephant Bar be carried over to that portion of the building. The management of the shopping center would like to wait until a tenant for that space is available and have them do it as their tenant improvement. Staff had no problem with that as long as that happened within six months of the opening of the Elephant Bar. Staff recommends approval. Scott Wendall, Architect, WD Partners, described the concept of the Elephant Bar and exterior features. Chairperson Wong asked if they knew what type of retail would occupy the remaining 2,300 square feet. The management company stated that had not been negotiated a lease yet. Discussion continued about the possible design elements for the remaining 25% of the building. Chairperson Wong asked if the outdoor seating could be increased. Mr. Gilli stated that that was discussed however there needed to be enough clear space so people could walk along the arcade. Virginia Tamblyn, 19721 Bixby Drive, stated that the building was very nice. MOTION: SECOND: ABSENT: ABSTAIN: VOTE: Commissioner Miller moved to approve ASA-2004-03. Chairperson Wong None None 2-0 2.
