1.0 Purpose
De Anza Plaza's location along De Anza Bivd. and Stevens Creek Blvd. pravides excel�ent accessibility, it is vitally important that proper site visibility and timeiy notificatian is provided to customer traffic traveling on De Anza and Stevens Creek Boulevards.
The Guidelines�stablished for De Anza Plaza commercial tenants will provide a coordinated sign system to communicate information in a distinctive and aestheticafly pleasing manner.The visual cansistency that this criterion creates will minimize confusion
and confirm an image of quality, uniting all of the individual, participating occupants within De Anza Plaza.
It shall be the responsibility of each tenant to submit design drawings of the proposed signage first to the landlord for it's written and or stamped approval and subsequently to th� City af Cupertino far approval prior to the installation of any signage. The use of
professional designers and or sign companies to prepare these drawings wiil be required. The guidelines and requ+rements#or the submittal process is locateti in section 4.0"Submittals and Review".

2.0 Design Specifications/All Tenants
All signs shal{be reviewed for conformanc�with these guidefines and overall design quality. Approval or disapproval of sign submittals shall remain the right of the City of Cupertino and the Landlar�.
The square fooiage af individual(y app(ied fetters for primary tenant identification is defined as when the sign is composed of letters applied to the building without a distinctive background,the area of a sign may be measured by the height of the letters times
the length afi each line of letters otherwise,the area af the sign may be measured to the autside perimeter of the sign, including the area of any voids within a simple bounding perimete�.
Sign content shall be limited to the tenant's name and primary graphic logo unless specifically provided for herein.
Notwithstanding the following Sign Provis�ons, tenants may utifize standard corporate logas and/or prototypical signage graphics, subject to approval of the Landlord and iocal governiny entity.

2.2 �lectrical and Ille�mination
Fabrication ar�d installation shall comply with all Underwriters �aboratories requirements ancti app�icable state and (ocal codes. Ail components sha11 bear the U.L. labei indica�ing approval, and be manufactureci and installetl by a U.L. ceRified company.
All wiring, raceways, conductors, transformers, baliasts and other equipment shall be concealed from public view. Primary electrica�service to all Tenants' signs shall be tied to Tenant's eiectrica!service.Tenant shall pravide time clocks for use in conjunction
with ti�e eiectrical service and be responsible for ali associated costs.
The illumination of all sign components shall be uniform in intensity over all the illuminated surfaces.
Iliuminatian and electrical specifications must appear on all shop drawings submitted for approval.
The external i(lumination of all tenant signs shall nat exceed that which is approved by the Landlord during the submission process. There shall be no excessive glare or coloration from lighting on surrounding areas or on Tenant facades.

2.3 Installation and Removals
All penetrations of any building structure required for sign installations shall be neatly sealed and continuously maintained in watertight condition.
All contractors used by Tenants for installation, removal or service calls on signage must be fulfy licensed, and must provide Landlord with certificates of insurance prior to the commencement of any wark.
All methods of attachment to any structure must be detailed o� shop drawings and be approved by the Landlord.
Sign removals shall include the patching and repairing of the entire work area, plus the brick fa�ade cleaning of any "ghasted" areas as directed by the landlord.
Tenant's sign contractar shall repair any damage caused by his work. Tenant's sign contractor must follow the rules and regulations for T.I. cor�tractors provided in each Tenant lease. Damag�to any structure that is not repaired by the Contractor shail became
the tenant`s responsibility to carrect.
�h�tenant's sign contractor shall be campletely licensecl by the state of California, carry workman's compensation and public liability insurance, per the lease against all c4ar�iage suffered ar done to ar}y ancl al{persons and/or praperty wh�le engagecl in the
consiruction or erection of signs.

3.1 Tertant Signage
Tenants may utilize standard corporate logas and/ar prototypical signage graphics, subject ta approval af the Landlord and local governing entity. All tenant signage is subject to landlord appravais.
There will be three types of signage for this proje�t.Sign type A will be internally illuminated channel letters with translucent acryfic faces.The second sign type B will be re�erse channel, haio illuminated. Both sign types A and g may be iiluminated with neon
tube or LED. The third sign type C wilf be non-illuminatecl, reverse channel I�tters� Refer ta Exhibit 5 for sign type details and sign area matrix.

4.0 Submittals �r Review
No signs shall be fabricated or installed uniess the foliawing appravals have been obtained.
Landlord Approval:Submit three(3�sets of plans,to scale, showing the sign elevation. This drawing must have all materials and colors specified. At least on�drawing o#the sign must be in color. Also provi�e material and color sampl�s ifi requested by the
landlord.The plans must also include the building elevation and the locationjs)of the signs on the building, and a site plan indicating the location of ihe stare in the shopping center.
Once these plans are stamped and approved, one set shall be retained by the landlord, one set shall be the tenant's copy, and the last set shall be submitted to the City of Cupertino. The City requires four�4j sets total with application and fee.
If the plarrs submitted to the landlord are n�t acceptable or require revisions, they R�ust be resubmitteci unless they are appraved "with conditions".
City of Cupertino Permit Process:
