2. Subject: General Plan Amendment (GPA) for changes to development allocations
that was originally noticed for tonight's agenda was re-noticed to April 21
City Clerk Grace Schmidt noted that the General Plan Amendment (GPA) for
changes to development allocations originally noticed for tonight's agenda was re-
noticed to April 21.
Council received the notification.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Peggy Griffin talked about issues with increasing student population and urged Council
to think about long-term impacts of rezoning and community benefits.
Darrel Lum talked about ,',t, target opportunity area- in Cupertino f,ten regarding
height, density, and setback requested by the property owners and asked Council for
feedback regarding these target areas in the GPA.
Stephen Scharf announced that the Cupertino Residents for Sensible Zoning had received
its FPPC number, www.crszaction.org. He talked about Measure D from a few years ago
in which residents voted no at that time to turn Vallco into a residential area.
Robert McKibbin showed an organization chart of Cupertino noting that the City Council
represents the residents of Cupertino. He talked about the upcoming GPA Council
agenda item on April 21 and urged Council to consider the impacts on the schools and to
listen to the residents.
Arthur Lu showed a "City Council score card" he had put together noting votes by past
City Council members regarding development in Cupertino.
Liang-Fang Chao showed a PowerPoint presentation regarding over-capacity in the
Cupertino Union School District (CUSD).
Alex Park, student from Monta Vista High School talked about his and another student's
proposal to partner with the City to place garbage cans on the sidewalk along McClellan
Road to help with littering issues.
