MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
A) October 8, 2014—Correction: Commissioner Sriraman's name misspelled in item c) of
new business. Commissioner Trivedi motions to approve minutes. Commissioner
Sriraman seconds motion. Motion passes unanimously
B) October 22, 2014—Correction: panelists misspelled in item a) of new business.
Commissioner Yun motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Smithline seconds motion.
Motion passes unanimously
COMMUNICATIONS
a) Oral—Commissioner Trivedi provided update from Mayor's Monthly Tea on November
12.
b) Written
NEW BUSINESS
a) Pizza &Politics Debrief- Event on October 22 was discussed and improvements to
logistics of future political forums were recommended.
b) Commissioner contacts in the community- Commissioners Yun and Fung attended the
community workshop regarding traffic safety on November 6.
c) Giving Tree/holiday program schedule—Commissioners decided to adopt a family
through West Valley Community Services'Giving Tree program. Commissioners will raise
funds and then purchase items off of the family's wish list. Commissioners Fung,
Murphy, Sriraman, and Swamy will serve as sub-committee.
d) November& December meeting dates— November 26 meeting cancelled due to lack of
business. Special Meeting will be held on December 3 to discuss status of Giving Tree
donations. Regular meeting will be held on December 10.
e) Teen Center's new name—Commissioners will brainstorm ideas and bring name options
to December 3 meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
a) 2014/15 work plan update—Intergenerational event tentatively scheduled for late
February or early March. Commissioner Murphy will take the lead on the event. Walk
One Week tentatively scheduled for late March. Commissioner Smithline will take the lead
on the event. Ted Talks forum tentatively scheduled for late April. Commissioner Swamy
will take the lead on the event.
b) Commissioner photos—Photos taken and will be posted on city website by Staff Liaison
Jahns.
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:41 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a SPECIAL MEETING on Wednesday, December 3,
2014 at 6:30 pm at Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Road, Cupertino.
