04. Structural Steel -A36 unless otherwise specified.
05. Welding - 11500 psi net for shear, tension,and compression.Arc welding electrodes to be
E70 series.
06. Lumber - Sawn lumber: Douglas Fir grade as specified. Glulam: Grade 24F-V4.
07. Connectors - Simpson catalog C-2012 unless otherwise specified.
08. Shear Plywood - 3/8"Structural I exterior,unless otherwise specified.
09. Soil -Assumed bearing 1500 psf.
10. General:
A. All columns and posts to be installed with ICBO approved column caps and post anchors or as
specified.
B. Use 2 trimmers minimum on all bearing walls opening over 6'or as specified.
C. It shall be the owner's responsibility to insure that construction conforms to these calculations.
D. Before ordering any material,it shall be the contractor's responsibility to verify all dimensions.
E. Any field condition found to be unusual or other than those used in these calculations shall be
reported to the project architect or engineer.
F. All new foundation shall be placed a minimum of 18"into undisturbed soil.
G. Where posts are called out for beam support,the load is to be transferred the full length to the
foundation via vertical grain member only.
H. All wood in contact with concrete,masonry or soil shall be pressure treated or Redwood.
