It is the poliryo uf the City of Cupertino to provide group
haspi.te~l and medical ii~surance under which employees in
C~~nfidenYial positiuns and their dependents may bF_~ covered. The
purpose of this ~rogram is ko pramote and preserve the health of
employees and their famili~s through comprehensive health plans
av2ilable only through employer ~ponsorship.
Although the premium co~t for the insurance provided remain~
the ultirnate responsibility ~af khe employee in a Camfidential
pa~itiun, the City shall conCribute e~n amount of bi85.uu per
employee per mnnth towar-ds the prPmium or pay the full cost of
the premium if leass than this z.mount. If premium amounts for any
employee covc=red by this pulicy are less than SlflS.fii.~ per month,
the differeni.a ~atween the pr-emium amo~.~nt and b185.C~~~ will be
~I contributed by the City to a deferred cumpensation account in the
~ employee's name in accordance with F'olicy No. 9 of this plan and
the reyulati.ons ot the c~mpenstion deferment proyram of the
~ City. Enrollment in the plan or plans made availabie pursuant to

of historical and national significance as holidays uf the City
witnuut 1055 of pay or benefits. Fecogni-<ing the desirable
continuan~e af municipal service~> by confidential employees
resultiny from scheduling of occasional holid~ys at variable
times through~out the year, it is th~ policy of the City of
Cupertino to provide days off in lieu of holidays ior
' conficit:ntial employees at such times ~s are convenierit for each
' rmployee and supervisor, when >uch policy is compatible with the
' wor~:load ~nd schediale of the City.
Employees occupying confiGential positio~s shall be provided
' twn days per calendar year as a non-work day with fu11 pay and
' benefit, in a~dition to thuse holidays set furth in Section S.1
of the F.ules on Conditions of Employment. For payroll purposes,
' each such in-lieu-of day oif shall be recorded as a holiday.

or ~lans made availa~le pursu~nt t~~ this p~licy shall be in
accordance with Fcrsonnel Rulcs of Yhe City and the pi~nvisions af
the contract for such insurance between the City and carrier or
carriers.
