A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
' OF CUPERTINO PROVIDING FOR THE ORDER OF
SUCCESSION OF THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER
WFiEREAS, the continuing function of the Office of City Manager in
the event of a state of var emergency, state of emergency, as these terms
~ are defined in the California Emergency Services Act (commencing at Sectioa
8550 of the government Code), is necessary to assure the effective operation
of [he governc~ent of the City in coping witn conditions vhich may result
in extreme peril to the life. proper[y and resources of the people of this
City;
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Cupertino as follows:

1. Approval is granted that the following officers or department • .
i heads of the City serve as City Manager Pro Tempore whenever the City
Hanager is unavailable, and in the folloving order of succession:

II. Director of Planning S Development
III. Director of Parks and Recreation ~

V. Administrative Servicea Officer
, VI. Assistant City Engineer

2. The term "unavailable" as used in the preceding paragraph means
that the City Manager is either killed. missing, or so seriously injured
as to be unable to attend meetings or otherwiae perform his duties. The
City Hanager Pro Tempore shall serve until the City Manager !e available
or until hie succesaor is appointed by the City Council. Any queation
ae to vhether the City Manager is unavailable shall be settled by the
City Council or any remaining available membera of said body.
