A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
CALLING FOR A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
APRIL 8, 1980 AND REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF ELECTIONS
WFIEREAS, April 8, 1980 is the date se[ by law for general elec[ion for
[hree sea[s on the City Council; and
WNEREAS, a special election may be ordered [o be held in another political
subdivision on the same day, in the same [erri[ory, or in territory [hu[ is in
, part [he same; and
WIIEREAS, pursuant to Chap[er 4 of Part 2 of Division 14 of the Elections Code,
[his election may be either comple[ely or par[Sally consolida[ed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFS OLVED by the City Council of the City of Cuper-
tino:
Section 1: Tha[ a general elec[ion is called for April 8, 1980;
Section 2: Tha[ [he election shall be for [he purpose of electing persons to
[hree Ci[y Council seats now occupied by incumbent Councilmembers James E.
Jackson, Rober[ W. Meyers, and Dan 0'Keefe, whose [erms of office will ex-
pire;
Section 3: Tha[ [lie Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara Coun[y is requested
to pattially or completely consolidate said elections and to provide [hat the
canvasa be made by any body or official authorized by law to canvass [he returns
of the election and tha[ this governing body consents [o such consolidation;
Section 4: The Ci[y Clerk is hereby uu[horized and directed to certify the
due adoption of this Resolution and to transmi[ a copy hereof so cer[ified [o
the Board of Supervisors of the County and to the Regis[rar of Voters of the
County.
